Oil

Moving from watercolor to oil paint has its challenges. So many things seem backward to each other. Light to dark in watercolor vs dark to light in oil paint is a challenging brain exercise. What I have found though is a certain fluidity using oil. I have started to think in oil, the way one starts to think in a foreign language when learning a second or third language. There is a serene quality to painting in oil that hits my senses the way that no other medium has.
